The foundation stone for Sri Pushpam College was laid with the aid of Shri K.Kamaraj, the then Chief Minister of TamilNadu National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Reaccreditation with 'A' Grade status Affiliated to the University of Madras, from 1956 to 1981 Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, Since 1982.
